About us

I Am an Influential Woman is a community-based feminist organization that believes politics is not the exclusive domain of state institutions or official positions, but rather a daily practice rooted in managing differences and conflicts among people. Accordingly, the organization works to promote women’s participation across various levels of political engagement, extending beyond the traditional understanding of politics as limited to state affairs. We believe that any ability to influence and transform societal thinking, as well as any dialogue or discussion addressing public issues and shared interests, constitutes a form of political participation. Likewise, the ability to participate in decision-making—whether concerning women’s personal lives, family matters, or their local communities—is also a form of political participation. The organization adopts Compassionate Communication as one of its core pillars, recognizing it as an approach to dialogue, conflict management, and building human relationships grounded in respect and mutual understanding. This approach contributes to reducing all forms of violence while fostering a culture of peace and social cohesion. I Am an Influential Woman believes that the political and social empowerment of women is fundamental to achieving sustainable development, strengthening democracy, advancing justice and equality, and building a peaceful society founded on partnership and mutual respect.
